(4)BATTLE FOR THE SOULS
The time the evil man gave them had already expired. It was time for him to have his fill of human souls. Fathers, sons, husbands were going to die today and nothing was going to stop that from happening. The Evil man made a show of the situation. He pitted the men against each other with a promise to spare the live of the one who beats his partner in local wrestling. While the men were scrambling for their lives, the two men entered their town preaching. They could be from afar telling the townspeople to give their lives to Jesus Christ and be saved. The evil man knew what was going to happen if this men continued preaching. So he sent the other men to bind them with a promise to spare the lives of those did it. But they found him first.
The people were surprised because of the way they challenged him. No one has ever done that before. The evil man rose up in fury "You young and foolish boys fear challenge me?" "I have existed for hundreds of years and seen multiple life times fade away" The turned and faced the crowd quoting from the Holy Bible
"Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." He further went on saying " All powers on heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus Christ. His birth has brought redemption to all of mankind. "Therefore my people," pointing to the evil man "why are we still under the influence of this filthy demon?" "We should be celebrating the birth of the Savior. We should be evangelizing his word. We should be the light of this world" "This is the season of love" "What greater love is than there than the love of Christ?" "Our ignorance has cost us a lot, but the love of Christ will rectify this error"
The atmosphere was tense. The townspeople were caught in-between. For some who have seen the ability of the evil man in the past were already lamenting. While others who saw the confidence of the two young men had some sought of faith in what they saying. "Even if we die, we die fighting" said someone from the crowd.
The evil man understood the consequence of not responding. He will lose his hold over the people. He had to act, but his power were rendered useless. He had to flee never to return. The powers of darkness was put to shame.
The man who was once a begger, now an instrument of deliverance, Championed the revival of his town. And from that day forth the spirit of the most high GOD found expression. The news of their triumph over the evil man spread like wildfire, bringing the gospel of Christ to all in that territory.
